What we are doing is apparently working very well. For Chancellor his diet is critical to this success, carbs in the form of various veggies from time to time and a raw meat diet, raw meaty bones, and taurine supplementation as well as a vitamin/mineral capsule. Smaller, more frequent meals are also critical and for him, a night time recreational bone (meaty or marrow) keeps him satisfied. He gets exercise at least 1 hour a day, and mental stimulation as well as Tellington Touch bodywork twice a day. His meds are three Keppra tablets per day; six hypothyroid tablets per day; and Potassium Bromide one time per day – liquid. This combination is working for him. His last meds levels were right on target – always get levels on meds completed at the vet at least two to three times a year to make sure levels are not too high nor too low as this can affect frequency of seizures or breakthroughs (which means everything seems fine and then there is a breakthrough seizure). Just an October 2011 update.
